Even Now...

Those who have not experienced it do not recognize how many times the wound of abuse can be reopened. But even now, with the earth in a calamity of political and violent war and sorrow, there is something amazing going on. Here we are—our entire planet… grappling with awe and despair—how fragile, how beautiful. Each of our lives, all of our histories are summed up in this.

We are certainly greater than the sum of our parts.¹

This is not to paste a soft focus on it. But a reminder.

Above us, a capsule of inspiration has given us a perspective on all of it.

So, we connect the dots and swim through the triggers… together. We don't have to turn away from ourselves or others even though we are exhausted, overwhelmed, and afraid.

We just need to continue to do the deep work in recovery because our work is the business of healing for ourselves, and much larger than that.

So how do we do this?

First - rest.

Then look up. Re-member. Here we are on this puny planet in a huge unimaginable cluster of galaxies, with this profound miracle of life.

Perhaps now, you can connect with someone you trust, who gets it and gets you.

We are not alone.
